We are excited and honored this month to welcome Mandy Matson, Director of Communications at the Conservators’ Center in Burlington, NC. The Conservators’ Center is a nonprofit conservancy caring for more than twenty species of exotic animals, primarily mammalian carnivores. They offer tours led by experienced volunteers, and any visitor there can see the immense respect and care they have for their nearly 90 resident animals. Mandy will be speaking about the effects of humans on the native habitats of predators, the pitfalls of reintroducing captive-born animals to the wild, and the importance of carnivores.
