This month, we’re honored to have Dr. Arturo Escobar, professor at UNC Chapel Hill, recent inductee to the American Academy of Sciences, and author of Encountering Development: The Making and Unmaking of the Third World.
He has spent his career defining and exploring territorial struggles against extractive policies. as well as developing transitions to post-developmentalist and post-capitalist societies. He was professor of anthropology and political ecology at the University of North Carolina, and now splits his time between NC and Colombia.
