Home > Speaker > September 2022: Sunday Assembly with Ansel Dow (Resource Generation)

What role do people with wealth and class privilege have in the fight against systemic oppression? How does class & access to wealth impact the ways we show up in our families, friendships and communities?

Ansel Dow (he/him) is a member-leader of the local chapter of Resource Generation, an organization that asks and answers these questions every day. The chapter works to organize young people with class privilege to build a world with an equitable distribution of wealth, land and power. Part of this work is making plans to redistribute wealth in ways that can heal the historic injuries inflicted by extractive and exploitative economic systems.

Another part of the work is showing up for each other with love, honesty and accountability to better understand the ways that class impacts our daily lives. Ansel will explore these questions with us, lead us in some reflection about the way that class experiences have shaped our own experiences, and brainstorm ways that we should bring these perspectives into our actions in the world.
